Marc James Sellers

September 5, 1957 -- May 26, 1993

Marc was born in Glendale, California, went to grammar school in Silver Spring, Maryland and Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Berkeley High in Berkeley, California.  He had various careers, including interior decorating, and working for the first carpool programs out of San Francisco. He briefly worked on the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and finally settled in as Vice President of Operations for a large hardware company in Chicago specializing in European kitchen and bathroom fixtures, running the sales and order fulfillment aspects of the business.

When Marc was diagnosed with ARC in 1986, he was given eighteen months to live and moved back to California to be with his family.  Marc eventually lived seven years with AIDS. During that time he discovered the Center for Attitudinal Healing in Sausalito, California, and entered a support group for people diagnosed with AIDS.  He worked very hard and succeeded at being at peace with his illness. Marc is survived by his mother, Colleen Rae, his stepfather, Jerry Shifman, who raised him, his sister, Lauren Flanagan, and his biological father, Don Sellers.
